Terrace Downs steps Up and makes the Kids feel Special

Terrace Downs High Country Resort has come a long way from its early days as an exclusive resort for golfers. Now a known name and a place that most feel welcome to, the resort is ready to step up once more in order offer fantastic boutique accommodation to savvy families looking for convenient escape options with their children.

“We wish to offer a more refined and authentic experience to visitors and ensure that all our guests, including children, receive the best attention and service from staff, because we want families to feel privileged at Terrace Downs, ” General Manager, Dilan de Silva explains.

In addition to a recent restaurant rebranding and an accommodation upgrade, Terrace Downs has taken a step to make parents and children feel special with crafted accommodation and entertainment.

“Children are a key focus for 2012. We have designed a special family suite like most have never seen before,” says de Silva.

Patiti, the brand new family suite at Terrace Downs, not only has been equipped with the latest lighting and technology available but also boasts a separate playroom to delight children aged 3 to 12 years. Adjoining the other rooms, the playroom also has a sofa bed to cater for a family with three children.

In this two-bedroom apartment, alongside the children’s bedroom, the carefully designed activity room provides all the necessary toys, games and books to keep the children entertained while ensuring the parents can keep some privacy in the nearby lounge, making for a wonderful stay, even on those rainy days.

The family suite is equipped with a Sky and Mountain view telescope, home theatre system and an I-pod dock station.

Available in the children’s playroom are New Zealand made wooden toys, Legos, books, a flat screen LED Panel TV with Disney DVDs, a PlayStation and other games including a chess board.
The welcoming space ensures that parents and children can share quality and bonding time together in their family suite.

Where Children eat for free
Since the start of May 2012, couples with one to three children are able to take advantage of the brand new family suite and to please those travelling families, children under 12 staying at the resort eat for FREE off the newly developed healthy kids menu.

The chef at Terrace Downs, John Niblette, has developed a special children’s menu, focusing on fresh and local ingredients, to offer healthy options to children. With a menu different from the usual “macaroni and cheese or chicken nuggets” options, children are now able to dine like grown ups and choose appealing yet balanced meals from the “Hawk’s Club menu”.
Parents will be grateful to finally be proposed a tasty and healthier approach toward children’s menus.

Extra services on offer to top it all up
In order to make sure parents who choose Terrace Downs for a family holiday are rewarded with some ‘’me-time’’ as well, the resort offers the Rockmybaby baby-sitting services to parents. Rockmybaby has an excellent reputation of providing first class babysitting and deliver the highest quality of care and standards.
