Brown is Best!

The pub was crowned the Best Country Hotel in New Zealand at the Lion Nathan Awards for Excellence Dinner, at Bayview Wairakei Resort Taupo.
The staff at the Brown Pub in Methven have always suspected that they’re operating a damn fine establishment, and from tonight (Thursday 1 October) the rest of the country will also know. The pub was crowned the Best Country Hotel in New Zealand at the Lion Nathan Awards for Excellence Dinner, at Bayview Wairakei Resort Taupo.
The Brown Pub would like to extend a big huge thank you to all of its regular local patrons who truly make the Brown what it is – a fun and vibrant place to while away an hour or two while sharing a laugh with whoever else has popped in to say hi. What truly makes a pub great fun is the people you meet while you’re there and it’s thanks to the local Methven community that the pub has the friendly atmosphere that it does. Our little town changes so much across the seasons but the one thing that remains constant is the amazing community spirit that exists here. The staff and management of the Brown Pub are very proud to have won the title of New Zealand’s Best Country Hotel, but nothing could make them more proud than calling themselves Methven locals! So once again, thank you to everyone out there who helps us make the Brown what it is, and we hope to see you around the place sometime soon.
