On a clear day at Mt Hutt you can see the Pacific Ocean in one direction and into the heart of the Alps the other. That in itself’s pretty awesome, but so is playing in the snow at over 2000m. The trail network suits all snow lovers, from total beginner (dedicated beginner area with enclosed Magic Carpet and novice quad chair) through to keen-as intermediates (think long, super-wide groomed runs) and the world’s best racers and riders. It comes with high speed chairlifts, progressive terrain parks (for skill levels from novice to insane), chutes and steeps, a halfpipe and a warm, comfortable base building when you need time out. Kids love the Skiwiland Early Learning Centre and when they get too old for that there’s progressive and fun Kea Club programmes for young skiers and boarders. Parents can sit back and relax on the sunny deck with a glass of great New Zealand wine, or hit the slopes safe in the knowledge it’s all taken care of.

Methven Travel provides regular transport services from Christchurch Airport and surrounding hotels and motels to Methven and return. We don't charge for ski and board bags! During the winter months while Mt Hutt Ski Area is open we operate up to three scheduled services per day. Rental cars, charter buses and day tours also available. 

The Ski Bus is the official supplier of Mt Hutt Ski Area. The Ski Buses picks up around town before departing Methven and also drops off at your accommodation on your return to Methven. Travel in safety and comfort, enjoy the beautiful scenery and we will take care of the driving. Mt Hutt Ski Bus departs daily at 7:45am & 9:45am with several pick-ups in Methven.
